How It Works

Innovative Systems and Code400.com have partnered to provide access to an iSeries for those who want to learn or expand their iSeries programming skills. With a free account you’ll get:

  • One user profile
  • Personal Library
  • 50MB of storage

Accounts not used are subject to deletion after 60 days.

System Configuration

Currently, our system has the following configuration:

  • IBM iSeries Model 170
  • V5R3 with the latest CUM PTF package
  • 700MB memory
  • 36GB disk (non-mirrored)
  • All programming language compilers

What You’ll Need

You will need some form of 5250 eumlation software. We suggest:

  • iSeries Access for Windows - we have valid licenses for this product.
  • TN5250 - freeware - available here
  • Mochasoft 5250 - shareware - available here

Learning Resources

Innovative Systems and the staff of Code400.com are not providing any instructional materials (books or self-paced education courses). We will provide a library of example code that you can use for your own education. We strongly encourage any programming or technical questions be directed to the forums at Code400.com.
